We all know change is inevitable, but ordinarily, many changes are experienced as evolutions, not revolutions. We have time to adjust. This year’s events, however, have forced many of us to suddenly and dramatically reimagine parts of our lives and our roles. Never has the phrase ‘the future is uncertain’ felt more real and, perhaps, terrifying.
While it is important to plan, paradoxically, it may now be equally helpful to suspend the will to control circumstances and instead redirect that energy to managing your own thoughts and emotional responses – both to what is, and to what you imagine may eventuate. Acceptance can help to ease the tension and frustration caused by resisting changes we can’t control.
As George Bernard Shaw said, “Progress is impossible without change, and those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything.”🍃Stay safe and #keepsoaring
